I so enjoyed meeting Makenna and her sweet parents!! What a beautiful and lucky baby to have such amazing parents who adore her. She was so good for her session sleeping the entire time. It’s hard to believe that my baby girl is now a big 1 year old. When she was just a newborn, I remember taking her out in public and feeling like a year was a lifetime away. Friendly faces of strangers would ooo and ahhh over her, and every time as we would part, they would the same thing. They all said, “Enjoy her; it goes by so fast” or “Don’t blink, before you know it she will be 16.” I remember thinking how it did not seem like it was going by all the fast. I tried my best to take everyone’s advice and soak it all in and felt like I was doing a good job at it. After all, time did not seem like it was flying by all that fast .. maybe I was doing something right? Then one day out of the blue, I remember looking at my now 6 month old baby and realizing the last month had flown by. How did that happen? All of the other months seemed to last longer. Then the next month came and went even faster and the next zoomed by even faster. Here we were celebrating her first birthday, and it dawned on me in those very moments that all of those friendly strangers gave me the single best piece of advice I have ever heard…. “Enjoy her …. it goes by so fast.”

Babies have been smashing their first birthday cake for years, but I love the recent trend of photographing the event professionally. This trend allows us to capture darling images like the ones below. We used a backdrop from Fancy Fabric and Props for his baseball theme.
Corbin’s mom Kristen has been one of my best friends since childhood. We grew up together, and I have been blessed to photograph all 3 of her children. Corbin was a absolute dream to photograph and smashed his cake to pieces. Love him!

This sweet little hunk of newborn love is Mr. Brody. I photographed his big sister Logan about 2 years ago and quickly became good friends with his mama.
